Normal Heart Community Ventures GLBT nonprofit New Mexico and West Texas

Southwest LGBT Press – Formerly known as The Normal Heart, the Southwest LGBT Press is the oldest gay newspaper in New Mexico and West Texas. It serves all of New Mexico and the far western part of Texas including the cities of El Paso, Lubbock and Amarillo. The Press is the only non-profit community written LGBT publication in the area. Community volunteers produce the monthly publication. The goal of the Southwest LGBT Press is to end the isolation of LGBT folks by connecting them with each other and providing inspiration by showcasing the strides being made in our community and nationally.

Future Programs – In the future Normal Heart Community Ventures hopes to use the Southwest LGBT Press as a springboard to other information and education programs using cutting edge media to allow the LGBT community greater access to information and connection.

Normal Heart Community Ventures also intends to develop programs and/or projects to address such community issues as domestic violence, substance abuse, parenting, suicide, senior issues and other issues the community feels are important.
